Terms, certificate licence & refunds
Draft version 2026-11-03.4
1. Adults only
You must be at least 18 years old and have reached the legal age of adulthood in your country or region of residence. If the applicable adult age is higher than 18, the higher age applies. A parent's permission does not replace this requirement.
Checkout requires your own confirmation: “I am at least 18 years old and have reached the legal age of adulthood in my country or region of residence.” This is a self-declaration, not an identity or age-verification service. Do not continue if you cannot truthfully confirm it.
2. What you receive
The Nothing Diplom is satire. Only this novelty digital certificate is supplied; no other goods or services are promised. After PayPal confirms payment, we email a novelty diploma and a printable PDF to the address supplied. You need access to that inbox and software capable of opening a PDF. No physical item is shipped.
The certificate is not an academic, professional, or government credential. No recognition, investment return, or other financial benefit is promised. This is not a charitable donation and is not represented as tax-deductible. “Paying for nothing” is the joke, not a way to remove obligations for the digital certificate.
3. Payment and delivery
You choose the amount and supported currency and approve them on PayPal. This is a one-off checkout, not a subscription. Payment is currently sandbox-only; no real money moves. PayPal's applicable terms also govern your use of PayPal.
Check your name, email, amount, and currency before approval. You may leave checkout before approving a payment. Certificates are sent after payment confirmation, not before. If delivery fails, contact TheNothingDiplom@hotmail.com for help.
4. Refund policy — no voluntary refunds for regret
No voluntary refunds for regret or change of mind. Refunds and other remedies required by applicable law or PayPal rules remain available.
Cooling-off and withdrawal rights
For Danish and other EU consumers, a distance contract for digital content normally has a withdrawal period of 14 days from conclusion of the contract, subject to the applicable rules, exceptions, and any legally required extensions. Other countries may provide different or additional rights. A personalised name on a PDF does not by itself mean that all withdrawal rights disappear.
Your diploma is digital content, emailed immediately after PayPal confirms payment. Before checkout you must expressly request that immediate delivery and acknowledge: “I request immediate delivery of my digital diploma after payment, before any applicable cooling-off period ends. I acknowledge that, where the law permits and the required conditions are met, I lose my statutory right of withdrawal when supply begins.” A statutory withdrawal right ends only if the relevant legal conditions are met, including the required consent, acknowledgement, confirmation, and commencement of supply. Merely ticking the terms checkbox or making a payment is not enough. Your email contains the declarations and an attached copy of the terms recorded at checkout.
This policy does not remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. You can still ask for a remedy if the diploma is never delivered, is defective or not as described, or if a payment was duplicated or unauthorised. If delivery has not begun, any applicable withdrawal right still applies.
If you have a withdrawal right, notify us with a clear statement at TheNothingDiplom@hotmail.com. Include your name, order reference, and order date so we can identify the contract. No reason or prior permission is required for a valid statutory withdrawal. You may use the wording below, but it is not compulsory:
I withdraw from my contract for The Nothing Diplom.
Name: [your name]. Order reference: [reference]. Order date: [date].
Any refund or other remedy required by law will follow the applicable statutory rules and deadlines. This policy does not charge a fee for exercising a mandatory right.
To report a problem, email TheNothingDiplom@hotmail.com with your order or PayPal transaction reference. Never send passwords or full card details.
5. Consumer and PayPal rights
Mandatory consumer rights and any applicable PayPal dispute rights are not waived.
You may use PayPal's applicable dispute process or other remedies available under law or payment-provider rules. Contacting us first is not a condition for exercising those rights. PayPal decides eligibility under its own rules; we do not promise that this transaction qualifies for Buyer Protection.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, imposes a blanket waiver of claims, or removes mandatory consumer protections. Any non-waivable law or applicable PayPal requirement takes precedence over conflicting wording.
6. Certificate licence (EULA)
You may save, print, display, and share your diploma as a novelty. Keep its novelty disclaimer visible and do not present it as a genuine qualification, official accreditation, or proof of a charitable contribution.
This permission does not transfer ownership of the website's software, branding, or design. Third-party materials remain subject to their own licences. The certificate licence does not restrict your mandatory consumer or payment-dispute rights.
© 2026 J.M. All rights reserved. This notice applies to original site text and diploma artwork to the extent they are protected by law, not to third-party materials or rights we do not own. Apart from the personal licence above and rights provided by law, no rights are granted. You may not sell, mass-produce, or alter diplomas to make them look genuine.
7. Disclaimer and liability
The website and diploma are satire. Beyond correctly delivering the digital certificate described at checkout, no promise of any result, recognition, value, or benefit is made. Do not rely on the diploma for any purpose other than amusement.
This disclaimer does not exclude obligations to supply conforming digital content, remedies for non-delivery or defects, or liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. It is not a blanket release of liability or a waiver of your rights.
8. Acceptance, records, and contact
The age, terms, and immediate-delivery checkboxes are not preselected. All three are required before checkout. We record the confirmation time, terms version, exact declarations, and a copy of the terms and privacy notice with each new order. These are included with your diploma email so you can keep them offline. Later versions do not retrospectively change the terms accepted for an earlier order.
See the privacy notice for how order data and confirmation records are handled.
Project contact: J.M., Denmark, TheNothingDiplom@hotmail.com. Full legal seller identity, business address, and applicable registration details must be added before live use.
9. Denmark and worldwide customers
The operator is based in Denmark and the intended customer audience is worldwide. This does not mean that purchases are lawful or supported in every location. You must meet the adult requirement where you live and use a payment method you are entitled to use.
These draft terms use Danish law to the extent legally permitted. This does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections applicable in your country of residence. Nothing here requires you to use Danish courts exclusively or gives up a right to a competent local court, regulator, or applicable payment dispute procedure.
Contact us about a problem at TheNothingDiplom@hotmail.com. Available statutory complaint and dispute-resolution routes remain open; contacting us does not suspend any filing deadline.
